PRINCIPALS

Wesley M. Du Charme, Ph.D.

Wes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude in Psychology, from the University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Michigan. He taught at Rice University and has worked as an organizational psychologist for many years. He has published a number of scientific articles on decision analysis, and a book examining some of the societal implications of advancing technology.

As an organizational psychologist Wes has served as both an internal and an external consultant to such diverse organizations as Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins, Children’s World, and Farm Credit Services. He is past President of the Rocky Mountain Human Resource Planners Group and a Senior Associate of the Foresight Institute.

As a co-founder of Decision Time Tools, Inc., Wes is uniquely suited to apply the rigors of psychological assessment to the pursuit of compatible leisure time activities. He matched many employment candidates to organizational opportunities, created and validated selection tests, and developed both traditional and distance learning programs. His interest in helping people choose rewarding careers extends naturally to helping them choose rewarding leisure time activities, enabling them to enjoy their retirement years to the fullest.

Kent R. McArthur

As an Adjunct Professor of Organizational Behavior at the University of California in Berkeley, Kent began developing analytical tools to help individuals take advantage of many of the same techniques used by successful businesses.

It all started with a Masters degree in Management Science from Cornell University with his dissertation: Decision-Making under Uncertainty. Kent then applied his problem-solving abilities for a variety of international corporations, helping to improve the profitability of EXXON, FMC Corp. and McKesson. While serving as Corporate Planning Director for Guild Wineries in San Francisco, Kent realized that his true passion is helping people lead happy lives rather than helping corporations build profitable businesses.

After 15 years in the business world, he turned to academia as a student of Eastern and Western psychology, a researcher of stress and individual differences applied to careers, relationships and finances. He also taught organizational behavior and personal growth courses. Along the way he helped hundreds of individuals improve the quality of their lives by overcoming problems and making good personal choices.

In 1994, Kent founded Life Planning Institute which conducts seminars and workshops on self-improvement topics and coaches individuals through the steps of his Life Planning ProcessTM as documented in his book, How to Be Happy, Healthy, Wealthy & Wise: The Guide to Taking Control of Your Life.
